After many years of thinking about it off and on, I have finally left my Big Four accountancy career behind. And to be honest, I’m not sure what will happen next. But surprisingly I’m not half as scared as I thought I would be.
So surely the perfect time to start a blog then! Somewhere I can chart my progress, my ups and downs, my wins and my mistakes.
Will anyone else ever read this? Do I want anyone to read my ramblings? At this stage I’m not sure I would. But – as someone who always chose science subjects in order to avoid writing essays – I would love to gain confidence in my writing and to feel that it could helpful to people other than just me. I feel this blog is an opportunity to do that.
Lets also give credit where credit is due. I have also been prompted into action by the free Start-A-Blog Challenge with Live Your Legend. I only discovered this movement due to the untimely death of its founder Scott Dinsmore. So many people/ sites I followed on social media were talking about how amazing he was that I was curious to find out more. I’m very grateful I did as I needed to hear what he and the community has to say at this crossroads in my life (check out his TED talk on How to Find Work You Love). It must be a tremendously difficult time for his wife, friends and family as they start to live without him. I hope they take some comfort in the impact he made across the world and will continue to make through his legacy.
